“Hardware with network effects” strategies from Apple

Brilliant to have a hardware feature in iPhone that is intrinsic to iOS, apps and in-browser logins. Massive.

And hard to match across the fragmented Android world.

So it pushes on exactly the part Android doesn’t match well.

Like in the early days when Android was keyboard oriented (it was! They bought Bumptop for touch) and Apple was leading.

Not the only thing either — the coprocessor for movement, the Bluetooth LE.

It’s a strategy for “only iPhone can do that”.
