This entire story turns on a phrase in the email sent to folks holding tickets for the canceled show. “Due to unforeseen circumstances…” we are canceling the show.
This is the kind of thing a dummy says. Or…a tight-lipped lawyer amidst delicate negotiations? An ace sleuth working a crime scene for leads?…the mind races.
But it is probably just the dummy. Something happened, they told the intern from NYU to send a cancellation notice. The person borrowed the most formal phrase they could think of from a Time Warner bill.
